The Story Behind the Celestial Collection

The Celestial Collection holds a very special place in my heart — it was born during lockdown, in the most unexpected and wonderful way.
I joined an improvised stitch group online, led by the wonderful tutor Nancy Gamon. At a time when the world felt uncertain and isolating, this little group became a lifeline. We were connected through our screens, stitching together, sharing ideas, and forming real friendships — all whilst navigating some truly scary times.
It was within that community that the Celestial Collection began to take shape. I started drawing stars and flowers, intertwining and connecting — a visual reflection of how we were all reaching out to one another across the distance. The motifs became a celebration of connection, of how small communities like our little sewing group can hold us together when the world feels overwhelming.
Beyond the story, I also had a very practical creative goal: to design ambient, versatile textiles that would work beautifully alongside other fabrics. Whether you're quilting, patching, or mixing and matching, the Celestial fabrics are designed to complement and enhance.
I hope when you stitch with these fabrics, you feel a little of that warmth and connection that inspired them.
